Cooper Oil project

Substantial oil reserves remain to be discovered and developed through application of best practice technology to improve conventional primary recovery and application of secondary waterflood recovery and enhanced recovery techniques such as CO2 injection. Maximising the recovery from already discovered oil in the ground and discovering new reserves is a key strategic driver for Santos. The Cooper Oil Project is an accelerated drilling and field development program in response to higher oil prices and improved technology and project management.

Gladstone LNG

The proposed Gladstone LNG project is to deliver a 3-4 million tonnes per annum LNG processing train and associated infrastructure. This highly significant development would see coal seam gas processed and sold into export markets.

Moomba Carbon Storage project

Capturing and securely storing CO2 deep underground is one of the most practical and efficient responses to combating climate change. Santos’ Moomba Carbon Storage Project (MCS) could eventually store up to 20 million tonnes of CO2 per annum and 1 billion tonnes over the life of the project. MCS will establish Australia as a leader in climate change initiatives and will provide a crucial enabler for the development of clean coal technology.
